Simple tips that can change your life for the better
Do you often find yourself troubled with thoughts like "I'm not good enough." and "I'm not pretty enough."? Struggling with these negative thoughts day and night can make you feel extremely lousy about yourself. Here are some tips on overcoming low self-esteem.
1. Think positive
It's always easier to say "think positive" to everyone in the world, but doing it is much harder. You just can't bring yourself to do that after being used to the usual negative thoughts stuck in your mind every day, right?
Fret not, for Google is your friend. Look for "positive quotes" and start browsing through the different kinds of quotes that appear in you search. Choose one you really like and set it as your wallpaper. Make it a habit to read it every morning, as it can help you stay positive and motivated throughout the day.
2. Surround yourself with positive people
Start asking yourself: "Who are some of the negative people I always spend time with?" Consider the answers and think about how you can start spending less time with these people from today onwards. If you constantly surround yourself with people who are always negative about anything and everything in life, they're just going to make you feel even worse every single day. Start hanging out with people who always encourage and motivate you along the way. Their positive vibes can change your perspective towards life too!
3. Stop comparing yourself
Thoughts like "She's so pretty, I feel so ugly beside her!" or "Her life is so good! She can get anything and everything she want!" can affect the way we think about ourselves. We tend to feel inferior when we’re surrounded by such people because we want that particular attention and acceptance from others.
Instead of dwelling on every flaw, why not focus on your strengths? Count your blessings, and pay more attention on your positive traits. Always remind yourself that you are as capable as others.
Remember, being positive is a decision that has to be made on your own. You have to be determined to remove negativity completely from your life.
No doubt, it's going to be a rocky journey ahead, but the results are definitely worth your effort.
